Last night, the Oklahoma Sooners scored one of their biggest recruiting wins in years, pulling in elite quarterback Bowe Bentley . Bentley, a top-five quarterback recruit in the 2026 class, chose the Sooners over the LSU Tigers.
Not even a full day later, Bentley is already trying to bring in the future of the Oklahoma Sooners. In a tweet already going viral among Sooners fans, Bentley is sending a message to Oklahoma's top uncommitted targets at wide receiver.

Wanna play catch in Norman!?#OUdna
Those five wide receivers Bentley mentions are (in order of recruiting rank): Davian Groce, Jayden Petit, Craig Dandridge, Daniel Odom, and Zachery Turner. All of these targets are four-star recruits and some of the top wide receiver prospects in the country.
Davian Groce is their top priority target as a tremendous high-end offensive playmaker. He is a two-way player at both running back and receiver in high school, with some jaw-dropping burst and deep speed on film. He's a Texas 200-meter state champion and has a basketball background as well, making him one of the best pure athletes in the entire class. It's evident why the Sooners are gunning for him.
Jayden Petit also boasts a similar background. A 6'4 perimeter threat, Petit is a well-balanced and explosive deep threat whose style of play might remind many of CeeDee Lamb. While it's obviously way too soon to compare any of these players to an elite NFL talent, his size, ability after the catch, and contested catch ability are eerily similar.

Odom is already committed to the Sooners, but it's fair to wonder if he felt some concern about the Sooners pursuing so many other top wide receivers. Bentley reaching out like this should be a good sign of reassurance here for Oklahoma's longest-committed prospect.
Zachery Turner is an intriguing weapon. He's a hybrid tight end/wide receiver prospect who reportedly wants to make the switch to wide receiver full-time, and the Sooners view him there. He's a big-bodied target whose size pops at the catch point, and he is tough to bring down after the catch.
Bentley is working hard to bring as many of these potential future playmakers to join him in Norman as the future of Oklahoma's offense. If he and the Sooners staff succeed at bringing in these talents, the future of Oklahoma will have rarely been brighter.
