Much to the surprise of NFL fans around the country, Shedeur Sanders is heading to the 2026 Pro Bowl Games.

Sanders, the 144th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, completed 56.6% of his passes during his rookie season for 1,400 yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Although his numbers don't exactly match what you'd expect from a Pro Bowler, he'll be in the Bay Area along with the best players in the NFL.

"Thank you God. I'm beyond excited and extremely grateful for all the love and support from the coaches, players, and fans," Sanders said in a statement. "This wouldn't be possible without the support behind me. Still plenty of work to do."

Countless people mocked the NFL for allowing Sanders to join the Pro Bowl Games. Scotty Gange of 9NEWS Denver is one of those critics wondering how the rookie from Colorado made the AFC's squad despite having more interceptions than touchdowns.

"Shedeur Sanders was named a Pro Bowl quarterback today solely because they have nobody left to pick," Gange said. "Drake Maye is going to the Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes , Daniel Jones and Bo Nix are all hurt. And I must assume Trevor Lawrence, Lamar Jackson and C.J. Stroud didn't care to go. You may remember Russell Wilson was a Pro Bowler last year, which seemed odd. This is much weirder with Shedeur."

Well, at least he told people how he really feels.

Shedeur's future in Cleveland.

It's tough to determine what's next for Sanders because the Browns don't have a head coach right now. Obviously, he believes he'll be contending for the No. 1 spot on the depth chart this offseason.

“I think I did what I was able to do, and I definitely grew from a lot of things, and I got experience now,” Sanders said. “So, I’m always the same, confidence-wise, I’m there. But like, that’s not in my hands. Like, that’s not my decision. I can’t speak on what other people feel.”

We'll see if Sanders gets a chance to silence his doubters in 2026.
