Commanders

Commanders P Tress Way said rookie K Drew Stevens has impressed him.

“His bounce back, his mindset of rinse and repeat and being able to go right back to it, is very valuable,” Way said, via Commanders Wire. “Even as a rookie, it really is obvious to see just how raw-talented he is. It’s pretty similar to golf. You see the pros, and they have one miss. Whenever they miss the ball or miss the fairway, they kind of miss it the same way. And he is very much that way.”

“So, whenever he sprays one off to the right, it’s the first field goal of the game, he had the juices going…when we went out there for the second field goal, I kind of just enjoy getting to be his caddy,” Way added.

Eagles

  • Eagles HC Nick Sirianni was asked if he would make any sort of changes on the staff: “I’m not making any changes there. It’s on all of us to get things going in the right direction.” (Brooks Kubena)
  • Sirianni expressed confidence in QB Tanner McKee: “Tanner’s our guy. We’re not making any changes there.” (Zach Berman)
  • Eagles DC Vic Fangio talked about DE Jonathan Greenard‘s lack of practice time: “What I see is a guy that has had very, very little practice. When I say very little, minuscule. He missed all of training camp. Missed the first two weeks of the season. No practice. Started practicing. Was on pitch count. Played 19 plays. Was going to increase the next week. Got hurt early in that game. Didn’t finish that game. Didn’t play the next game, and he’s been limited in practice. Contrary to some people’s popular belief, practice is important.” (Berman)

Giants

The Giants were reportedly interested in acquiring Commanders DL Daron Payne before he suffered a season-ending injury. When asked about Payne and his expiring contract, HC John Harbaugh said they wouldn’t have wanted to bring in Payne if they couldn’t sign him to a contract extension.

“It wouldn’t want to be a one-on-done kind of thing,” Harbaugh said, via Dan Duggan of The Athletic. “You want to have a short-term and a long-term win if you’re going to do it with draft capital.”

New York currently has six picks in the 2027 NFL Draft. Giants GM Joe Schoen said it is still possible for them to regain draft capital “down the road.”

“There are always options to regain capital down the road, whether it’s from players on the roster at the trade deadline if people call and it’s something that makes sense for us, through the offseason,” Schoen said.
