A big-name defender could be on the move again, and there’s growing speculation that one of the NFL’s marquee cities may become his next home. As whispers circulate around the league, all signs point toward a familiar West Coast destination, possibly even a return engagement.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jalen Ramsey could be headed back to Los Angeles. Speaking on ESPN Radio, Schefter outlined the situation, noting that while the Pittsburgh Steelers checked in on Ramsey, they’re no longer viewed as a likely landing spot.
“I think Pittsburgh checked in. I’m not so sure that Pittsburgh’s going to be the destination,” Schefter explained. “In fact, if I had to guess, I would say Pittsburgh would not be the likely destination.”
Instead, Schefter pointed to both L.A. teams, the Chargers and the Rams, as real possibilities. “I think when you’re trying to figure out a home for Jalen Ramsey, two teams that make sense, and we’ll see how it plays out, would both be in Los Angeles, be it the Chargers or the Rams,” he said.
A reunion with the Rams would be headline-worthy. Ramsey spent three and a half seasons in Los Angeles, earned three Pro Bowl nods, and was instrumental in their 2022 Super Bowl run. Cap space is tight, but as Schefter noted, “The Rams just continue to float around out there. It would have to work financially for both sides, and I think that’s a possibility still.”
The Chargers are also intriguing. With a reshaped defensive staff under Jim Harbaugh and holes in the secondary, Ramsey could provide instant leadership and production.
While nothing is imminent, Schefter’s comments suggest Los Angeles remains very much in play. Whether it’s a comeback or a fresh start, the city could once again become the stage for Ramsey’s next chapter.
