The Jacksonville Jaguars made some significant changes this offseason by giving the keys to the franchise to newly hired GM James Gladstone and head coach Liam Coen

They began this new era of Jaguars football with a bang by making the biggest splash of the 2025 NFL Draft by trading up for Travis Hunter. One NFL analyst doesn't think they should be done quite yet, with them sharing one more move the Jaguars should make ahead of their upcoming training camp.

ESPN calls for the Jaguars to sign former number one overall pick Jadevon Clowney

"The Jaguars have a strong pair of starting edge rushers with Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker. But there are questions about the depth behind them. Emmanuel Ogbah is 32 years old and had just five sacks as a full-time starter in Miami last season. Myles Cole had no sacks on 11.3% of defensive snaps as a seventh-round rookie.

The Jaguars could use a third strong edge rusher who can rotate with Hines-Allen and Walker, and there are a number still on the market. I'm picking Clowney over Matthew Judon, Preston Smith or Za'Darius Smith because his strength setting the edge on run plays makes him a good sub for Walker specifically."

ESPN's one final move for all 32 teams

I was shocked to see signing an edge rusher as the suggested move for the Jaguars. Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker are one of the top young pass rushing duos in the NFL. Signing Jadeveon Clowney would improve their depth, but I think there are spots on their defense that still need improvement. Signing a veteran CB, for example, would seem like a better use of resources at this time for the Jaguars, who still don't seem to know how many snaps Travis Hunter is expected to play on that side of the ball. Adding a former number one overall pick that has 11 years of NFL experience certainly wouldn't hurt, though. If I had to guess, he hasn't waited this long to sign with a team to be a depth piece somewhere, though. He is probably waiting to see if any team has a glaring starting spot open up ahead of the regular season.
