Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys secured their first winning streak in Week 12, jumping to 5-5-1 on the 2025 NFL season after taking down the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles 24-21. Now, the Cowboys will look to make it three straight in Week 13, remaining in Arlington to host Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day.
While the Cowboys have been one of the more inconsistent teams in the NFL this year, Prescott has continued to shine in his 10th season. Through 11 games, the former Mississippi State Bulldogs quarterback has completed 276 of 398 passes for 2,941 yards, 23 touchdowns and seven interceptions. And having arguably the league’s most elite wide receiver duo in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens certainly helps.
But while Prescott continues to put up solid numbers, he has also become one of Dallas’ leaders on the field. So, as they have done numerous times throughout his NFL career, the Cowboys have nominated Prescott for the 2025 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.
The award, which was created in 2014, is "presented each year to an NFL player who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents and integrity in competition." One player is nominated from each of the 32 teams, with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen winning last year's award, collecting $25,000 for his charity of choice.
Along with Prescott, other notable nominees include Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love, Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie, Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers and Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.
"The 32 nominees for the 2025 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award," the NFL wrote on Instagram. "Each NFL team nominated a player for the award, which recognizes individuals around the league who exemplify outstanding sportsmanship."
Prescott and the Cowboys will host the Chiefs (6-5) on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
