Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals hosted the Denver Broncos in Week 17 in a pivotal game to keep their playoff hopes alive.

After a slow start, with the score tied at 10-10 through three quarters, the game came alive in the fourth. The Bengals and Broncos traded touchdowns twice, and the final two scores came in the last two minutes of regulation. Both teams had opportunities to win, but in the end, the Bengals came out on top, 30-24, in overtime.

"This is one of the crazy ones I’ve been involved with in the NFL," Burrow said in a report from the Associated Press. "It feels like we had a couple of those this year, and it’s nice to come out on top in one."

The Bengals quarterback delivered another stellar performance, throwing for 412 yards and three touchdowns, along with his second rushing touchdown of the season.

On Tuesday, the NFL announced Burrow had been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

The announcement came while also recognizing Miami Dolphins linebacker Tyrel Dodson as the AFC Defensive Player of the Week and Los Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker as the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

"The AFC Players of the Week! (Week 17)," the NFL wrote on social media.

Burrow, 28 is in his fifth season in the NFL after being drafted first overall by the Bengals in the 2020 NFL draft. Since then he's gone on to make the Pro Bowl and lead his team to a Super Bowl.

The former LSU Tiger is having the best statistical season of his career. Through 16 games, Burrow has thrown for 4,641 yards, 42 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions.
