The NFL has fined Dallas Cowboys cornerback Reddy Steward for an unnecessary roughness penalty in their Week 4 win over the Houston Texans.

On Saturday, the NFL released its weekly accountability report, and Steward was among the players fined.

The 25-year-old delivered a late hit on Houston wide receiver Nico Collins as he scored on a 22-yard touchdown. The personal foul came at the 10:57 mark of the third quarter.

Steward made contact with Collins’ head and neck, knocking the Texans wideout’s helmet off. This prompted an immediate flag for unnecessary roughness, which was enforced in the ensuing extra-point attempt.

After reviewing the incident, the NFL fined Steward $5,583 for a hit on a defenseless player.

Aside from Steward, his teammate KaVontae Turpin was also fined $11,941 for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The offense transpired at the 10:50 mark of the third quarter on the ensuing kickoff following Collins’ touchdown. No flag was called on the play, but the NFL reviewed the incident and fined Turpin for taunting.

The Cowboys defeated the Texans 34-30.

However, Dallas couldn’t sustain the momentum and fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-16, on Thursday. They fell to 2-3 after a disappointing Week 5 home loss.

The Cowboys are looking to bounce back in Week 6 as they visit the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Oct. 18.
