The Minnesota Vikings lost to the Baltimore Ravens in their Week 10 showdown, with Lamar Jackson leading his team to a 27-19 victory over J.J. McCarthy and company. Minnesota dropped to 4-5 on the season, placing the team at the bottom of the NFC North.
Jackson completed 17 of his 29 passes for 176 yards and one touchdown, while Justice Hill added one score on the ground for the Ravens. Derrick Henry also rushed 20 times for 75 yards.
McCarthy, for his part, completed just 20 of his 42 passes for 248 yards and one touchdown. He struggled against the Ravens' defense, even being intercepted twice.
As if the loss wasn't bad enough for the Vikings, they also received additional punishment for their players' actions during the game. Minnesota had the highest number of fines from Week 10, as the NFL announced on Saturday.
One of the players punished was cornerback Isaiah Rodgers. He was hit with a $17,389 for unnecessary roughness stemming from his hip-drop tackle on Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman in the third quarter of the contest.
As Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic noted, Rodgers' move caused Bateman to suffer from a high ankle sprain.
It's worth noting that Bateman wasn't able to practice with the Ravens all week due to the injury. His status for Baltimore's Week 11 game is still unknown.
The NFL also punished Ravens CB Fabian Moreau with a fine of $6,972 for unnecessary roughness with his use of the helmet in the second quarter.
Linebacker Dallas Turner, for his part, was fined for two separate incidents: $17,389 for a hip-drop tackle in the first quarter and another 17,389 for his hit on Jackson in the second quarter.
