The NFL has made it abundantly clear that games will not be delayed unless a team experiences a major COVID-19 outbreak similar to that of the Baltimore Ravens. Still, the Denver Broncos requested for their matchup against the New Orleans Saints to be pushed back to Monday.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the NFL denied Denver's request to have Sunday's game moved back, which isn't surprising.
The Broncos lobbied for the delay because all four quarterbacks on the team's roster are unavailable to play after Jeff Driskel tested positive for COVID-19. Drew Lock, Brett Rypien and Blake Bortles were deemed close contacts and weren't eligible to compete.
A report stated that the Broncos quarterbacks were not being cooperative with contact tracing. They could be facing discipline, and the team and players could be fined and Denver might end up losing a draft pick for protocol violations.
Without any quarterbacks available against the Saints, the Broncos are starting practice squad wide receiver Kendall Hinton at QB. Hinton was a quarterback at Wake Forest from 2015 to 2018.
