NFL Division Winners Prediction

Every year, new teams emerge and old ones die out. With week one of football season approaching, the time has come to predict who will win each division in the 2025 NFL season. Here’s who we’ll see come playoff time at the end of the year.

AFC East: Buffalo Bills

Starting with the easiest pick of all, the Buffalo Bills are a borderline lock to win the AFC East. Having won it the past five seasons, the emergence of superstar Josh Allen has marked a new age in the division. The competition in the East is not what it once was. Gone are the times of the New England Patriots’ domination, the New York Jets appear to be one of the worst teams in the league, and the Miami Dolphins continue to drown in question marks. Sitting at -350 to win the division, Vegas agrees that the Bills are the clear-cut favorite to run away with their division in 2025.

AFC North: Baltimore Ravens

Despite wanting to get spicy with this one, Baltimore is simply too good a team not to back. Many NFL fans would like to see Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals dethrone them as kings of the AFC North. While this fantasy may be exciting, it’s rather unrealistic. The Baltimore Ravens are one of the most talented and balanced teams in the league. With the offense being run by MVP Lamar Jackson and the defense remaining one of the best in the league, it’s hard to envision this team falling off in 2025.

AFC South: Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Travis Hunter (12) runs on the field before an NFL preseason matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers of an NFL preseason matchup at EverBank Stadium, Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025 in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Jacksonville Jaguars hit the reset button once again this offseason by hiring Liam Coen as their new head coach. Coming from Tampa Bay, Coen brings an offensive mindset that could be the spark the team’s been looking for the last decade. With the arrival of Heisman winner Travis Hunter and the emergence of Brian Thomas Jr. last season, the weapons are real for the Jaguars.

The Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts remain real threats when it comes to winning the division, but don’t be surprised if Jacksonville comes out of nowhere and takes the league by storm in 2025.

AFC West: Los Angeles Chargers

Here’s the wasabi! The surprise team in the AFC is shaping up to be the Los Angeles Chargers. With Jim Harbaugh entering his second year, the roster resembles something we’re used to seeing under his command. Through a strong running game and overwhelming defense, the team looks to dethrone the Kansas City Chiefs as the best team in the West.

NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles

Coming off a Super Bowl championship in 2024, the Philadelphia Eagles look to do the same this year. Even with the emergence of the Washington Commanders last season, the division remains lackluster in comparison to the rest of the league. Simply said, the Eagles tout the best roster in the league.

NFC North: Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff (16) takes the field for practice ahead the Houston Texans game at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

Last year, the NFC North was arguably the best division in football. None of the teams is to be taken lightly this year. Every single one of them looks to be just as strong, if not stronger than last year. The Minnesota Vikings bring J.J. McCarthy into the fold with one of the best rosters in the league. The Green Bay Packers showed their all-in this offseason by acquiring Micah Parsons. The Chicago Bears hired the hottest coaching candidate this offseason in Ben Johnson.

Not one of these teams’ fanbases enters the year without expectations. What the Detroit Lions have that the other teams don’t is the best offensive weapons in the league. Even if Detroit’s offense takes a step down from what they were last year, it’ll still be one of the best. This, paired with a healthy defense, should be enough for the team to remain the kings of the north.

NFC South: Atlanta Falcons

This prediction boils down to the success of Michael Penix. Amidst one of the weaker divisions in the league, the second-year quarterback has a real chance to make a splash for the franchise in 2025. Outside of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ recent success, it feels as if the division has been in limbo for the last decade. If Penix can play as well as he did at the end of last year, the Atlanta Falcons have a real shot to knock off the Buccaneers as the best team in the NFC South.

NFC West: Los Angeles Rams

If Matthew Stafford is standing by the end of the season, it should be no surprise to see the Los Angeles Rams finish first in the West. The San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Arizona Cardinals all look to bounce back from their mediocre campaigns in 2024. Yet the starpower in Los Angeles appears to be too hot to handle. Although the division’s expectations are higher than the results we saw last year, the Rams stand alone as the favorite to take the cake in 2025.

End Of The NFL Division Winner Rant

2025 appears to be another exciting year of pro football. I’ve got my money on the Los Angeles Chargers and the Jacksonville Jaguars to take the league by storm.
