NFL Draft 2025: Philadelphia Eagles Linked to Sanders as Second Round Pick

The Philadelphia Eagles added a potentially game-wrecking defensive playmaker in the first round of the NFL Draft, and could be in position to add another high-value prospect in Round 2.

After trading up for linebacker Jihaad Campbell, the Eagles could stick to their blueprint of building dominant lines of scrimmage on the draft’s second night.

Slated to select No. 64 overall, to close out the second round, and after losing defensive lineman Milton Williams in free agency, the Eagles could look to add South Carolina defensive tackle T.J. Sanders on Friday night.

That’s the exact scenario that plays out in Pro Football Focus’ Day 2 mock draft.

“Sanders is a true 3-technique who wins with linear and lateral quickness to shoot gaps and disrupt. He must improve his hand precision and play strength to be a full-time starter. At worst, he is a contributing rotational 3-technique.”

Last season, Sanders produced a career-high 51 total tackles with four sacks, and posted 9.5 sacks during his collegiate career.

Sanders, 6-foot-4 and 290 pounds, could be an ideal candidate to start alongside Jalen Carter as part of the plan to replace Williams.
