One of the bright spots for Arizona last season was certainly the elevated play of second-year tight end Trey McBride, especially once the team moved on from Zach Ertz.
Over the last 10 games of the season, McBride was targeted 7+ times in all but two games, catching three touchdowns and putting up some high yardage games along the way.
While the presence of Marvin Harrison Jr. may be viewed as a negative for McBride, I'd say think again. If anything, that should just give McBride more room to operate as defenses focus more on Harrison. The young tight end should see plenty of red zone work as a 6-foot-4 target, and we like him to pile up some touchdowns as he enters a crucial third year as one of Kyler Murray's most reliable options.
There is some reason for optimism here for the Arizona offense, but the schedule is just absolutely brutal. It's extremely hard to envision the Cardinals as favorites in many games, which means plus-money to finish with six or fewer wins has to be the direction we take.
Arizona's schedule is as follows to start the season: Bills, Rams, Lions, Commanders, 49ers, Packers, Chargers, Dolphins, Bears, Jets, plus two games against the Seahawks after the bye, and another game against the Rams and 49ers.
That is a lot to ask for a team still in transition, we're fading them on the win total in 2024.
