Tampa Bay got the perfect time to rest up during the 2026 season.
Finally, after months of wonder, the schedules for all 32 NFL teams have been fully revealed.
The Bucs’ schedule has its interesting points and quirks. They host Joe Burrow and the Bengals to start the season, which should be a fun one. Then, they have three straight at home against Cleveland, Minnesota, and Green Bay. They also never have two straight weeks in a row where they are on the road, which is pretty amazing.
But the NFL did the Bucs a solid with two words that stand out in that schedule: bye week. Tampa Bay’s bye week falls on Week 10, smack dab in the middle of their schedule.

The bye week serves as a split in two important respects. First, it gives the Bucs a week off after nine games, with eight to play. That means they don’t have to either have a long post-bye stretch or have to wait too long to get a week to heal up.
It also splits their only two back-to-back road games on the schedule and gives them an additional week to focus on a team that’s given them a lot of trouble in recent years in the Detroit Lions, who they face in Detroit on November 22.
The Bucs have had some decent bye weeks in recent years – Week 11 in 2022 and 2024 and Week 9 last year – but they got hit with a dog in 2023 with Week 5. Ironically, that was the last season the Bucs have won a playoff game.
We’ll see if the Bucs can repeat that success staring on September 13 in Cincinnati.
