The New York Giants are heading into the 2025 NFL draft with a few different directions they could go. With the No. 3 overall pick, the Giants could end up with Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, or Shedeur Sanders.
Just a couple of short weeks ago, Sanders was the big name being connected to New York. That has since cooled off.
Now, the Giants are expected to take either Hunter or Carter. Any of the three players would be quality long-term additions for the franchise. They couldn't go wrong with any of them.
That being said, a new suggestion has been made by ESPN NFL insider Jordan Reid.
He believes that New York could forego a quarterback at No. 3 overall, but then trade back into the first round later to get a signal caller.
In new column on ESPN, Reid made his suggestion in what would be a massive NFL draft night trade.
"The addition of quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason gives the Giants flexibility to add the best player on their board at No. 3, then potentially trade back into the first round for a quarterback," Reid wrote.
Who could the Giants trade back into the first round to get? There have been rumblings that Sanders could drop. If he slides into the 20's, New York trading back up for him would make a lot of sense.
Another potential candidate could be Jaxson Dart, who has been growing in popularity in the weeks leading up to the draft.
Either way, the Giants are going to be a team to watch. If Reid is right, they could exit the first round with two elite rookie talents on the roster.
