It's becoming more and more clear every day that the Detroit Lions are on the verge of losing both of their coordinators this offseason. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has been the most sought after coordinator for a while now and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn's popularity has risen to huge heights in the last year. But where are they going to wind up? ESPN's NFL Insider Dan Graziano has predictions based off what he's hearing around the league. Here's where both guys could wind up:
This is no surprise at all. The Commanders have been reportedly very sweet on Ben Johnson for a while now and Johnson is reportedly new GM Adam Peters top choice. Johnson will virtually interview with the Commanders this Friday as well. There's a ton of smoke around this one and there's probably some fire too. Here's what Graziano had to say:
"New Commanders owner Josh Harris already landed his top target for GM in Adam Peters. Many people around the league believe Harris has been focused on Johnson as his top choice for coach, though there are some who think Slowik and Macdonald are still possibilities.
Harris' process so far has been thorough but not slow. I believe he really wants Johnson, and he and Peters are in position to make that happen -- even if it's just about getting an agreement in place that can't be finalized until after the Lions' season ends."
A to Z Sports is a Nashville based company. So naturally I've personally been selling the Titans fans at our company on Glenn since the moment he was the first interview they requested. The league sees what the Lions are doing with Dan Campbell and they want to recreate that in their space.
Johnson is a phenomenal coordinator, but if its the culture building aspect that you want, Glenn is that guy. He's the defensive version of Dan Campbell and players love him. Here's what Graziano had to say:
"I've been told by a couple of people close to this situation to keep an eye on Glenn as a strong candidate. The Titans are casting a wide and diverse net, and this is one of the tougher ones to call at this point, but Glenn has appeal as a former player, as a part of what Dan Campbell has built in Detroit and as the coordinator who graded out the best of any on either side of the ball in a recent NFLPA poll of players. He will get a head coach job sooner rather than later, and he could be the guy the Titans pick to work with GM Ran Carthon on their rebuild."
