NFL Legend Dan Marino Makes Super Bowl LIX Prediction

Miami Dolphins legend Dan Marino is arguably the best quarterback in NFL history to never win a Super Bowl. Although he has no rings to his name, Marino does believe one team will come out on top in Super Bowl LIX.

On Sunday, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs battle Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in the championship game from New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Chiefs are eyeing something that the NFL has never seen before: a three-peat. They are also chasing their fourth ring in six seasons, which would cement themselves as one of the greatest dynasties in league history.

The Eagles, on the other hand, are chasing their second ring in franchise history. They are also eyeing some payback from Super Bowl LVII when they lost to the Chiefs 38-35.

On Friday, Marino made a guest appearance on ESPN's "The Pat McAfee Show." When asked who he had winning Super Bowl LIX, Marino, quite literally, did not hesitate to pick the Chiefs.

"Kansas City," Marino said. "I want Philly to win just because I don't want Kansas City to win three in a row... I want Philly to win, but I think Kansas City is going to win... And Patrick Mahomes, No. 15, he's pretty good."

Marino played with the Dolphins from 1983-1999. He earned nearly every honor an offensive player can, winning MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year and the Walter Payton Man of the Year.

In his long career, Marino threw for 61,361 passing yards, 420 touchdowns and 252 interceptions. He held the record for most passing yards in a single season (5,084 yards) for nearly three decades before being surpassed by many players. Now, his 1984 season ranks 12th on the all-time list.

The Chiefs and Eagles will play in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Superdome.
