Ja’Marr Chase is having another big year for the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite the injury to star quarterback Joe Burrow, Chase has been a steady force on offense for Cincinnati early in the season. Entering Thursday’s primetime matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chase had already registered 42 catches for 468 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Chase headed into the Steelers game fifth in receiving yards and tied for fifth in receptions in the NFL. The former LSU Tigers star currently leads the Bengals in targets, receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns, making him one of the most important players on the Cincinnati roster.
Chase entered the NFL four years ago as the fifth-overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. The Bengals passed on the likes of Micah Parsons, Justin Fields and Mac Jones, to name a few, to get their hands on Chase in the first round.
That decision has paid dividends for the Bengals. After winning Rookie of the Year honors in his debut season, Chase has made the Pro Bowl games for four straight years. Last season, he was named an All-Pro wideout for the first time in his career.
Chase further cemented his legacy on Thursday night against the Steelers. The 25-year-old etched his name in the NFL history books with another receiving record. The NFL announced Chase's latest feat on social media.
“Ja'Marr Chase joins Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Randy Moss as the only 3 players in NFL history with 6,000+ rec yards & 50+ rec TD in their first 5 career seasons ✅” NFL+ posted on X.

The fact that Chase has reached the same territory as Jerry Rice and Randy Moss, two legendary NFL wide receivers, speaks volumes about the Bengals wideout. At this point in his career, Chase has already established himself as one of the all-time greats.
Chase is in the midst of another strong performance for Cincinnati. As of writing, he already has 14 receptions for 128 yards and one touchdown. The Bengals are in the lead, 30-24, with less than seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
