The NFL and NFL Players Association have cleared one hurdle potentially standing in the way of training camps opening on time.
On Monday, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that the league and union have agreed to daily coronavirus testing during training camp.
Mark Maske of the Washington Post added that daily testing will go on for at least two weeks. If the positive rate for tests falls below 5 percent, testing may shift to every other day.

NFL players will be tested daily for coronavirus for the first two weeks of training camps. If the positive rate for Tier 1 and 2 individuals falls below 5 percent at any point, testing of players becomes every other day.

Rookies report to camps this week. Sessions open to all players on July 28.
The NFL is following MLB and European soccer leagues and allowing players and other personnel to live at home during the season rather than adopting a "bubble" format used by competitions such as the NBA, NHL, Major League Soccer and National Women's Soccer League. Thus, it's believed players will push for daily testing to continue beyond the two-week period.
Nevertheless, Monday's development seems to indicate a majority of NFL veterans will show up to work on time and before the month ends.
