NFL scout says it's this Ravens WR's 'time to shine'

The Ravens have added several new weapons to QB Lamar Jackson's arsenal this offseason, but one NFL scout believes a breakout season is on the horizon for a wide receiver entering his third season in Baltimore.

"Rashod Bateman is the guy," an AFC South scout said. "But, he needs to stay healthy. With Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers, I don't expect Baltimore to be as run-dominant as they have been. This season could finally be Rashod's time to shine."

Bateman, the Ravens' 2021 first-round pick, has been limited by injuries. Through his first two seasons, he has played in just 18 games and caught 61 passes for 800 yards and three touchdowns.

However, Bateman has shown glimpses of his playmaking ability when healthy, posting eight catches for 226 yards and two touchdowns in his first three games last season.

Bateman had Lisfranc surgery last year and seems to still be working his way back after spending much of the team's minicamp on the sideline. Although, he is expected to be ready for training camp, which begins July 26.

The 2023 season will be as important as ever for Bateman as the team will need to decide whether to pick up his fifth-year option next season.

If he doesn't live up to expectations, his time in Baltimore could be nearing its end. But if he finally makes the leap, he could help lift the Ravens' aerial attack to another level.
