It was sadly announced Thursday that former Houston Texans and Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Bryan Braman passed away. He was only 38 years old.

Braman played college football at West Texas A&M before going pro in 2011. He spent three seasons with the Texans before signing a two-year, $3.15 million contract with the Eagles in 2014. During the 2017 season, he blocked a punt for Philadelphia in the divisional round of the playoffs. Overall, he finished his NFL career with 56 total tackles, two fumble recoveries and 1.5 sacks.

Unfortunately, Braman was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer earlier this year. There was a GoFundMe page set up for his family to help with all the medical expenses.

"Bryan is home with his family after undergoing a Car-t cell reprogramming treatment program in Seattle. With the cancer that Bryan has, which is a VERY rare form of cancer, the Car-t treatment had the highest chance of success as the cells are reprogrammed to fight this cancer that is within Bryan," the GoFundMe page states. "His cells did re-infuse themselves, and did in fact start reproducing within his bone marrow. At first the mass did start to shrink, but then the cancer started fighting back. At this point Bryan has had to start having chemo treatments that are designed for the treatment program Bryan is in. Bryan has had to undergo several surgical procedures."

On Thursday morning, NFL agent Sean Stellato revealed that Braman died. He let the football community know that Braman had two daughters, ages 11 and 8.

Countless people reacted to Braman's death on Thursday morning, including former Texans star J.J. Watt.

"Rest in Peace brother," Watt wrote on social media. "Gone too far soon.

Our thoughts are with Braman's friends and family members.

May he rest in peace.
