NFL 'TNF' player prop: Moore of the same

In last week’s clash between winless teams, Chicago squandered a 21-point third-quarter lead and was beaten 31-28 by Denver. Now 0-4, these Bears are a far cry from the ’85 edition, which started 12-0 and shuffled on to win the championship. Commanders coach Ron Rivera was a linebacker on that Super Bowl squad, and while he figures to show little mercy as his former team comes limping into town, there may be no stopping the subject of our top prop:

The bet: Over 3½ receptions for Bears wide receiver DJ Moore (DraftKings)

Acquired in the trade that sent the first overall pick to the Panthers, Moore has seized the intended role of No. 1 receiver. His integration in the opener was slow and disappointing, but Justin Fields has thrown to him at least six times in each of the three subsequent games.

That painful loss to the Broncos on Sunday saw Moore set season highs with eight catches for 131 yards. He similarly topped the century mark in Week 2, when he caught six of his seven targets. Had he recorded even one reception during the first half of the game in between, Moore would be on a streak of covering this number in three straight.

Despite Rivera’s pedigree, the Commanders rank in the bottom half of the league defensively and have been exploited by premier wideouts. Their secondary was a liability throughout last week’s overtime loss to the Eagles, struggling to cover both A.J. Brown (9 catches for 175 yards) and DeVonta Smith (7 for 78).

Moore can do much less and still make us winners.
