NFL Week 10 Mock Contest

Last week was our second-best week of the season, and perhaps our most frustrating in terms of that push and loss. C'mon, Miami. You gotta do better than that.

Either way, we are in the black as we head down the backstretch of the season. We have a smaller card again this week with Baltimore, Cincinnati, New England, and the New York Jets on their bye this week.

This week we are not getting too many expected blowouts. There are just a couple of games with a spread over at TD. There might have been one more but there are questions in Buffalo about the health of Josh Allen. Those are definitely priced into the line (he might not play)

Before we get into the picks for the week, here is a quick look at how we have been doing.

Week 1 Record: 2-3
Week 2 Record: 3-2
Week 3 Record: 2-3
Week 4 Record: 4-1
Week 5 Record: 3-2
Week 6 Record: 1-4
Week 7 Record: 3-2
Week 8 Record: 3-2
Week 9 Record: 3-1-1

Combined Record: 24-20-1

Week 9 in Review

Minnesota Vikings -3 (push)

Better than a loss but a push is so annoying. This should have been an easy one for the Vikes. Classic Minnesota.

Miami Dolphins -4.5 (loss)

They were in control throughout most of the game but couldn't fend off Justin Fields to avoid the backdoor.

Baltimore Ravens -2.5 (win)

This one was easy. No sweat.

Detroit Lions +3.5 (win)

Detroit did more than just keep it close. They beat their rivals.

Los Angeles Chargers -3 (win)

The Chargers actually came through. Now, what do we do?

Week 10 Picks (Finally)

Detroit Lions +3 (at Chicago)

After backing the Lions and winning with them at home, now I am asking them to hold up on the road too. That is the kind of season it has been this year. Their offense should do more than fine against the Bears and as long as they can keep Fields in check, they probably get another win.

Miami Dolphins -3.5 (vs Cleveland)

It is hard to back a team for a second week when they let you down, but the Dolphins are at home this week and their offense has looked really good for a while now. Cleveland is not quite whole yet and they are going to have a tough time keeping up. The dead number is less than appealing, but I still like the side.

Tennessee -2.5 (vs. Denver Broncos)

How can you not like Tennessee as a small home favorite. This is a team built to win games by three points so as long as this line is where it is, this is an easy hit. Ryan Tannehill might be back in the lineup this week, and rookie Malik Wills has proven he can not lose games for the Titans. That might be all they need.

New Orleans Saints -1.5 (at Pittsburgh)

The Saints did not look great against Lamar Jackson last week. This week they will be able to play to their strengths against a Pittsburgh team that struggles. Yes, a 3-6 team if favored at Pittsburgh this season. That is the new norm of the NFL when you don't have your QB situation sorted well.

New York Giants -5.5 (vs Houston)

Yes, the Giants are a completely legitimate modest favorite in this spot. The Giants have won for me in the past so there is less shock on this pick and fading the Texans is good practice this season. New York is no juggernaut, and I just don't see how the Texans score enough to keep up with New York. This could definitely be a blowout too.
