The Week 12 fantasy slate included big performances and significant injuries. Here's a look at the top surprises, disappointments, and waiver adds following NFL Week 12.

Akins hasn't been much of a factor for fantasy managers this season, but he performed in garbage time for the Texans on Sunday. He finished with five catches for 61 yards and one score.

Surprise: Jalen Hurts, QB, Eagles

Hurts is a must-start every week, but even his biggest supporters had to be thrilled with his Sunday night performance against the Packers. He threw for only 153 yards and two touchdowns, though Hurts was spectacular on the ground with 17 carries for 157 yards.

Surprise: Josh Jacobs, RB, Raiders

Jacobs is having a terrific fantasy season, but his performance at Seattle was history. He had 33 carries for 229 yards and two scores on the ground, including the game-winning run in overtime. He also tied for the team lead with 74 receiving yards on six carries.

Surprise: Isaiah McKenzie, WR, Bills

McKenzie is rarely the featured receiver in the Bills' offense, but he was the most productive in Buffalo's Thanksgiving tilt at Detroit. He had six catches for 96 yards and one touchdown.

Surprise: Olamide Zaccheaus, WR, Falcons

Finding fantasy value from the Falcons' passing game is difficult, but Zaccheaus turned out to be a fine spot start against Washington. He had five catches for 91 yards, easily his best performance of the season.

Disappointment: Tyler Boyd, WR, Bengals

Boyd appeared to be a solid start again with Ja'Marr Chase sidelined one more week. He was held in check by the Titans, finishing with only two catches for 16 yards.

Disappointment: Alvin Kamara, RB, Saints

Kamara continues to be a big disappointment for fantasy teams. His performance against the 49ers was one of his worst of the season, with seven carries for 13 yards and six catches for 37 yards. The Saints' lack of offensive explosiveness makes the former star an unreliable option.

Disappointment: Christian McCaffrey, RB, 49ers

The dynamic McCaffrey failed to get going against the Saints' defense. He had 11 carries for 32 yards and four catches for 17 yards. Fantasy managers will have to keep a close eye on his status entering Week 13, as McCaffrey is considered day-to-day with knee irritation.

Disappointment: Dameon Pierce, RB, Texans

The magic that was Pierce earlier this season is now a distant memory. The rookie was held in check as Houston played from behind at Miami, with five rushes for eight yards and three catches for an additional eight yards. He has a total of 33 yards from scrimmage over Houston's last two games.

Disappointment: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Chiefs

Returning from a concussion, it was apparent that Smith-Schuster was on a pitch count against the Rams. He saw the field for only 38% of snaps, finishing with three catches for 38 yards. Look for Smith-Schuster to play more regularly against the Bengals in Week 13.

Waiver Add: JaMycal Hasty, RB, Jaguars

Hasty looked like a fine stash when Jacksonville traded James Robinson. With Travis Etienne going out due to a foot injury on Sunday, Hasty came up big against Baltimore with 12 carries for 28 yards and five catches for 67 yards, and a receiving score. While Etienne isn't expected to miss significant time, Hasty remains a must-add in fantasy leagues where he is still available.

Waiver Add: Zonovan Knight, RB, Jets

It was a surprise to see James Robinson become a healthy scratch on Sunday, and Knight was there to pick up the slack when Michael Carter injured his ankle. The rookie led the Jets with 14 carries for 69 yards and added three catches for 34 yards. If Carter misses time, Knight will see more work along with Ty Johnson.

Waiver Add: Jordan Love, QB, Packers

Aaron Rodgers suffered an oblique injury in the second half of Sunday's game that could potentially sideline him going forward. Former first-round pick Jordan Love performed well in his stead, completing 6-of-9 passes for 113 yards and one touchdown. At the very least, he's a possible fantasy consideration with Green Bay's forthcoming matchup at Chicago.

Waiver Add: Jordan Mason, RB, 49ers

Bob Donnan / USA Today Sports Images

The 49ers' backfield is usually a gold mine for running backs, and Mason is in the right place at the right time. The rookie has moved up the depth chart with Elijah Mitchell suffering a major knee injury and Christian McCaffrey battling knee irritation. Mason could be start-worthy in Week 13 if McCaffrey's knee doesn't make progress.

Waiver Add: Mike White, QB, Jets

What a difference White made as New York's starting quarterback in Week 12. Replacing Zach Wilson, he was 22-of-28 for 315 yards and three touchdowns. We should be mindful that the success was against a mediocre Bears defense, but White should garner fantasy consideration.
