NFL Week 2 Power Rankings 2026 (TIME TO OVERREACT!!!)

The Titans had a very sloppy home opener, as they were outmatched by a Jets team that had no interceptions in 2025.

Cam Ward may have thrown a touchdown, but he needs to find rhythm in Brian Daboll’s offense.  The rest of the team must clean up discipline and penalties, and find their defensive identity under Robert Saleh.

31) Cleveland Browns (Last week 30)

The Browns have yet to find their identity after a rough 34-10 road loss to the Jaguars, during which they committed 11 penalties.

The defense struggled and got carved up by Trevor Lawrence like a jack-o’-lantern before Halloween, and Deshaun Watson returned to action, but took five sacks, lost a fumble, and threw a touchdown against an interception. 

30) Miami Dolphins (Last week 32)

The rebuilding Dolphins looked uneven in their 27-13 loss against the Raiders, but they had a couple of bright moments. Malik Willis scored a rushing touchdown, but he was sacked five times and threw an interception. 

The Dolphins were outperformed on both offense and defense, and De’Von Achane was contained for most of the game. This spot for them in the NFL Power Rankings feels right, for now.

29) Indianapolis Colts (Last week 19)

The 2026 Colts had an early reality check in their 41-23 loss against the Ravens. The defense allowed over 500 yards to Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry and looked completely overwhelmed.

Although Daniel Jones looked healthy, the rest of the offense struggled to sustain momentum after an initial 65-yard touchdown drive to open the game. However, Jonathan Taylor looked sharp, scoring two rushing touchdowns. 

28) Carolina Panthers (Last week 25)

The Panthers took a major step backward in their humiliating 59-37 home loss against the Bears. Although Bryce Young and the offense played well, the defense looked broken and lost.

The Panthers’ defense gave up a franchise-high 59 points and over 500 yards of offense, so they have a lot to clean up for next week. 

27) Atlanta Falcons (Last week 26)

The Falcons may have shown grit and kept things close against the Steelers, but they’re lost at quarterback, as both Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr. are out. Hence, their position in this week’s NFL Power Rankings.

Cooper Rush threw a touchdown and two interceptions and was sacked four times; the offense struggled to sustain drives and was hindered by dropped passes. However, the defense showed some bright spots with Za’Darius Smith sacking Aaron Rodgers twice. 

26) Washington Commanders (Last week 23)

The Commanders showed they are a resilient, hard-fighting squad, but they couldn’t get the win in their tough 24-22 loss to the Eagles on the road, and they still have some growing pains to clean up.

Jayden Daniels noted that the offense shot itself in the foot with too many mistakes, but offensive coordinator David Blough’s offense showed some flashes. 

On defense, defensive coordinator Daronte Jones fielded a very aggressive unit that went toe-to-toe against an elite Eagles offense, showing toughness and resilience. 

25) Los Angeles Chargers (Last week 11)

The 2026 Chargers looked sloppy and disjointed after their stunning Week One 26-14 loss at home against the Cardinals.

Justin Herbert threw a touchdown and an interception, while the rest of the offense failed to find any consistency under offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel. To make matters worse, the offensive line looked bad, giving up three sacks.

24) Denver Broncos (Last week 6)

The Broncos had a rough night on the road, losing 31-10 against the Chiefs. Bo Nix threw a touchdown and an interception, but he looked uncomfortable at times and was sacked four times. 

Sean Payton and Davis Webb abandoned the rush early on. Vance Joseph’s defense looked overwhelmed by the run, as they couldn’t slow down Kenneth Walker III. 

The Broncos faced a harsh reality check at Arrowhead Stadium, and they must regroup immediately and get more efficient in the coming weeks. 

23) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Last week 18)

The Bucs were a roller coaster of struggles, yet showed flashes in their 33-27 loss to the Bengals. Baker Mayfield scored a rushing touchdown, but was sacked four times and lost three fumbles. 

Bucky Irving played a great game, and the Bucs’ defense played fairly, but they still have some improvements to make after surrendering 33 points, so they fell at this spot in the NFL Power Rankings this week. 

22) Los Angeles Rams (Last week 1)

After all of the hype all offseason, the Rams looked like a frustrating powerhouse, as Myles Garrett was playing through a knee injury, while the rest of the team looked jet-lagged on the field.

The Rams’ offense only managed seven points, which isn’t a good look for Sean McVay, and the team’s Super Bowl odds have taken a massive dip. So is their spot at the NFL Power Rankings.

21) Las Vegas Raiders (Last week 27)

Klint Kubiak’s Raiders looked good, but had some kinks to clean up in their 27-13 win over the Dolphins. Kirk Cousins played fairly, throwing three touchdowns against two interceptions, as ball security is an issue. Ashton Jeanty looked strong with 147 total scrimmage yards and scored two receiving touchdowns.

Maxx Crosby and Nakobe Dean made huge third-down plays, while rookie Treydun Stukes grabbed his first interception. 

20) New York Jets (Last week 29)

The 2026 Jets looked sharp, earning their 23-10 win on the road against the Titans. The defense may not have snagged an interception, but they only allowed 68 rushing yards on the ground.

Geno Smith looked calm and poised while running Frank Reich’s system, and the rest of Aaron Glenn’s team avoided making major mistakes.

19) New England Patriots (Last week 7)

The Patriots played a slow game and initially had the lead at halftime, but it all slipped away as Drake Maye struggled in the second half, throwing more interceptions than touchdowns, including the game-ending interception.

Tight ends Hunter Henry and rookie Eli Raridon were reliable passing targets, but the team will be without A. J. Brown for four to six weeks, which will hurt the Patriots’ passing attack. 

18) Dallas Cowboys (Last week 10)

The Cowboys are a work in progress, as their defense struggled all night, failing to stop the Giants’ offense and allowing 165 rushing yards while looking lost in defensive coordinator Christian Parker’s scheme.

The Cowboys’ offense looked good, as Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Javonte Williams kept the team afloat all night. 

17) New Orleans Saints (Last week 24)

Even though the Saints lost a 31-30 overtime heartbreaker against the Lions, Kellen Moore’s team proved they’re resilient and dangerous, even though their slow starts are holding them back.

Tyler Shough rallied an epic comeback after being down 21-0 in the third quarter, but came up short during the team’s failed two-point conversion attempt in overtime. 

16) Arizona Cardinals (Last week 30)

The Cardinals enter the “Mike LaFleur era” with a stunning 26-14 road win over the Chargers, thanks to steady offensive play from Jacoby Brissett and Jeremiayah Love. 

Nick Rallis’ defense took charge, recording three sacks against Justin Herbert and unplugging the Chargers’ offense. This statement will give the team optimism and will likely prove doubters wrong if they continue playing like this. 

15) New York Giants (Last week 22)

After years of mediocrity, the “John Harbaugh era” has begun with a strong offensive 28-20 win over the Cowboys. 

Jaxson Dart threw three touchdowns, and Cam Skattebo had 81 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown, as the offense looked re-energized. The defense also looked dominant and sharp, holding the Cowboys to just 244 total yards, which reflects Harbaugh’s emphasis on physical toughness. 

14) Houston Texans (Last week 12)

C. J. Stroud and the Texans’ offense put up high numbers against the Bills, but suffered a heartbreaking 36-31 loss due to a late collapse and offensive line struggles. That’s why they dipped a bit in this week’s NFL Power Rankings.

The elite Texans’ defense had no answers for stopping Josh Allen, who carved them up quickly. The team heads back to practice to prepare for their matchup against the Bengals. 

13) Pittsburgh Steelers (Last week 20)

The “Mike McCarthy era” kicked things off with a nice 20-13 win at home over the Falcons with a dominant performance on defense. T. J. Watt had two sacks and an interception returned for a 35-yard pick-six in the victory.

Aaron Rodgers and the offense have some things to clean up: he missed DK Metcalf on four passes but connected well with Michael Pittman Jr. The Ground attack looked sluggish at times and has to find its identity as the season progresses. 

12) Green Bay Packers (Last week 14)

Although the Packers are talented, they struggled late in their 39-22 divisional matchup loss against the Vikings. 

The Packers initially had a 22-10 lead late in the third quarter, but the old habit of melting down in the fourth quarter reared its ugly head again as the defense struggled.

Jordan Love and the offense played fair, with Christian Watson stealing the show with 147 receiving yards and two touchdowns, as he looks like he’ll break out this season.  

11) Seattle Seahawks (Last week 3)

After struggling in the first half of their home opener, the Seahawks showed immense grit and resilience in their 13-10 win over the Patriots. 

Sam Darnold left the game with a glute tendon injury and will likely miss four to six weeks. Drew Lock stepped up and threw a touchdown pass and had no interceptions.

The defense played incredibly clutch and sealed the win with Josh Jobe’s interception in the end zone, but the secondary sustained some significant injuries that could hurt the team next week.

10) Minnesota Vikings (Last week 21)

Although Kyler Murray left the game with a concussion , Carson Wentz stepped up and looked like his old self from the Eagles, leading the Vikings to a 39-22 comeback win.

Justin Jefferson dominated in the air, while Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones formed a one-two punch on the ground.

However, Brian Flores’ defense was clutch, forcing a game-changing turnover and stopping Jordan Love on fourth-and-one. 

9) Detroit Lions (Last week 8)

The Lions showed talent, but were shaky at times as they narrowly won 31-30 in overtime against the Saints. That’s why they sit at this spot in this week’s NFL Power Rankings. Jared Goff threw two touchdowns, and Jahmyr Gibbs scored two rushing touchdowns in the victory.

The Lions’ defense barely held on when the Saints failed to convert their two-point conversion, but they let the lead slip away at times, which must be cleaned up immediately. 

8) Cincinnati Bengals (Last week 13)

The Bengals’ new-look defense went to work and carried the team to victory in their 33-27 win over the Buccaneers. The unit had four turnovers, and Demetrius Knight Jr. returned a fumble for a 27-yard touchdown. 

Joe Burrow and the offense played a steady game, while Mike Gesicki led the team with 789 receiving yards and a touchdown. 

Don’t sleep on this Bengals team; their defense is looking dangerous. 

7) Chicago Bears (Last week 17)

The Bears’ offense got off to an explosive start and looked like an elite unit in their dominant 59-37 win over the Panthers, the most points the Bears have scored since 1980.

Caleb Williams had 269 passing yards and two touchdowns, while D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai both had over 100 rushing yards on the ground. 

However, the defense is vulnerable, as they surrendered 37 points, and their roster is thin at the secondary position, which is a concern moving forward. 

6) Jacksonville Jaguars (Last week 16)

The 2026 Jaguars looked dominant and sharp under Liam Coen’s watch in their 34-10 victory over the Browns. Trevor Lawrence played a near-perfect game, throwing four touchdowns against no interceptions, but was sacked once. 

The defense looked incredibly strong, sacking Deshaun Watson five times, stopping the run, and forcing key turnovers, making this unit incredibly dangerous to go up against. 

5) Philadelphia Eagles (Last week 9)

The Eagles narrowly earned their 24-22 win over the Commanders, as the offense under Sean Mannion still has some improvements to make. Jalen Hurts threw three touchdowns, but was sacked three times.

Vic Fangio’s defense put the pressure on Jayden Daniels and had some clutch stops, helping the Eagles seal the victory.  

4) Buffalo Bills (Last week 2)

The Bills looked resilient and explosive in their thrilling 36-31 win over the Texans, as Joe Brady’s offense is not to be trifled with. Josh Allen threw two passing touchdowns and scored two rushing touchdowns, and DJ Moore had 100 receiving yards and scored a touchdown. 

The Bills’ defense looked clutch, forcing a late fumble with Terrell Bernard snagging it, while the unit had three sacks despite giving up 31 points. 

3) Baltimore Ravens (Last week 5)

The Jesse Minter-coached Ravens looked explosive and dominant in their 41-23 victory over the Colts. Lamar Jackson scored a passing and rushing touchdown, while Derrick Henry had 144 rushing yards and scored three rushing touchdowns. 

After giving up the opening drive, the defense clamped things down and suffocated the Colts’ offense. 

However, losing Zay Flowers and Ja’Kobe Lane mid-game could hurt the Ravens’ passing attack, and the team needs to clean things up and commit fewer penalties moving forward. 

2) Kansas City Chiefs (Last week 15)

The Chiefs look ready to take the league by storm in their 31-10 statement win over the Broncos. Patrick Mahomes threw two touchdowns against an interception and scored a rushing touchdown, while Kenneth Walker III had 173 rushing yards and scored a rushing touchdown of his own.

The Chiefs’ defense looked great under defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, while Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy’s offense looked dominant. This Chiefs team is on their revenge tour, ready to avenge their 6-11 finish last year. And they may stick around within this position in the NFL Power Rankings if they can keep things up.

1) San Francisco 49ers (Last week 4)

The 49ers not only looked dominant down under but were also incredibly resilient in their 27-7 statement win over the Rams.

Brock Purdy shone, throwing three touchdowns against one interception and wasn’t sacked at all, thanks to incredible offensive line protection, and George Kittle looked incredible returning to action from his Achilles injury last season. 

The 49ers’ defense was incredibly resilient, holding Matthew Stafford and the Rams to just seven points, silencing doubters and remaining a force in a highly competitive NFC West.
