The Denver Broncos may not seem like a team you need to be keeping tabs on, but you most definitely do if you like betting against the spread, and no, this is not an endorsement of the Broncos.
Green Bay Packers vs. Denver Broncos: Betting Odds
Spread: Green Bay -1, Over/under: 44.5 points, Green Bay -115 | Denver -105
Green Bay had its bye in Week 6, and the last we saw of the Pack, they were shut down by the Las Vegas Raiders in a 17-13 defeat. That loss put the Packers down at 2-3. Jordan Love has shown some flashes, but he's also been relatively mediocre more often than not. The Packers offense has not been fully healthy yet this year, and the hope is they get Aaron Jones back this week.
Denver is coming off a "mini-bye" of their own, playing on Thursday night last week. The Broncos lost that one 19-8 to the Chiefs, dropping to 1-5 on the year. The Broncos only win was against Chicago and the team has lost by 10+ points in three of their last four games. Denver's issues are on both sides of the ball, but their defense has to take the bulk of the responsibility here. The Broncos have shown no ability to slow down the pass or the run. That's a problem.
The Broncos are now an astounding 0-5-1 ATS, while Green Bay is 3-2. Denver is 4-2 to the over and the Packers are 3-2.
There is simply no reason to ever bet on the Broncos. This team proves to us week after week that they are one of the worst teams in the NFL. The Broncos come into this one ranking 30th in total DVOA, weighed down by the league's worst-rated defense.
Green Bay is no world beater, but they have a better roster, are better coached, and should be able to capitalize on some explosive plays against a Denver defense that gets gashed for big plays every Sunday.
Whether it's Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon or Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, multiple players are going to pop in this one, and we expect Green Bay to win comfortably.
The Broncos are 0-3 at home and this line should not be as close as it is, especially when you tack on that Green Bay is coming off a bye. Just grab their moneyline and avoid the -1 and the push it could bring.
