There was no shortage of drama in the Philadelphia Eagles' 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.
Jalen Carter was ejected for spitting at Dak Prescott, the game was delayed one hour due to weather, and a close finish. This NFC East matchup got a new chapter in its storied rivalry that many fans will remember.
One aspect of the game that the media will make sure the Eagles don't forget is the lack of targets for A.J. Brown. How many did he get? One. And it was a catch for eight yards with 1:45 to go in the fourth quarter.
Eagles fans know how this story ends with the media. They saw it play out last year and will see it again this year, as the media seeks answers on what happened.
It certainly felt like Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni knew what they media was thinking too during the press conference after the game. Sirianni had the answer regarding what happened with Brown getting one target.
"They did a good job of matching some of our routes. They did a good job of matching some things with taking away A.J. We had some different things to him that Jalen (Hurts) had to get through some progressions, and I think Jalen did a really nice job of getting through his progressions.
When we needed it, we needed it so many times here we've won the game based on our four-minute offense and different ways to play that. I thought we were aggressive, and A.J. got a ball that set us up for a third-and-three that helped us win the football game.
When we talk about our roles, I tell those guys there's going to be games like this. This is gonna happen, but to be what we want to be, you know, A.J. is obviously gonna have to be involved more in the offense, but some games go this way."
Sirianni went on to praise Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert for being selfless players and understanding their roles in the offense. He also gave credit to the Cowboys' corners for the job they did on Brown and the rest of the receivers for Philly. Sirianni concluded the answer by calling on the media to focus on the positive aspects, rather than dwelling on the negative, when they should have asked about Jahan Dotson's spectacular 51-yard reception in the game.

Anyone who watched the game would agree with Sirianni's assessment. Hurts took what the defense was giving him and made the scrambles in the game that helped pick up first downs and touchdowns. Outside of two Tush Pushes, Hurts led the team in rushing with 62 yards and two scores in the win.
After one game, the media is almost baiting the Eagles into creating drama that isn't there. Sirianni didn't take the bait and credited his players with not being selfish and helping the team win.
Credit to Sirianni as well for acknowledging that Brown needs to be more involved in the offense. The Eagles' explosive plays on offense are directly credited to Brown's ability to create big plays.
Philly has things to clean up, but Sirianni's team did what they did best: win.
