The Philadelphia Eagles have certainly taken their shots from the media this offseason with disrespectful takes on the roster and coaching staff.
There have been polarizing opinions on Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and quarterback Jalen Hurts, with some praising them in elite status and others putting them in the middle of the pack. It has been a recurring theme for the two of them over the last few years.
Entering 2025, Sirianni once again finds himself dipping in the rankings, but this time he takes a steep drop to near the bottom. The good news is this is a ranking that Sirianni wants to be as low as possible.
USA Today writer Jacob Camenker ranked all 32 head coaches who are on the hottest seats entering the 2025 season. Sirianni was ranked 31st, as he was considered in the "ice cold seat" section of the rankings, alongside only former Eagles and current Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.
"The Eagles have made two of the last three Super Bowls and blew out the Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. That was thanks in no small part to Sirianni, who has led the team to a 48-20 record in his four years in charge of the team."
Sirianni has never had a losing season and hade made the playoffs in each of the four years he's been the head coach. He's also 6-3 as the head coach in the postseason, including two of those playoff runs being in the Super Bowl.
There are quite a few fans outside of Philadelphia who are not the biggest fans of Sirianni. Many believe that he is loud and overly cocky with his demeanor on the sidelines.
This is a misinterpretation, as he has shown swagger and confidence in his players. It shows in the number of times he has gone for it on fourth down and leaves the ball in his team's hands.
Sirianni has created a strong culture of winning and being confident in their abilities. The Eagles have shown it on the field year after year, as this stretch of success is one of the best in franchise history.
Eagles fans will never ask for that mentality to change, as it fits with what the city is all about. Sirianni plays an integral part in ensuring that mentality remains in Philadelphia.
