Since the open period began a couple of weeks ago, the Notre Dame staff has been traveling all over the country to visit the schools of some of the top players in the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes. Gino Guidugli has been making the travels to see some of the best signal callers in the 2026 class, really solidifying their early board.

Last week, Coach Guidugli stopped by Darien (Conn.) High School, which is the home of talented quarterback Ben Rolapp. During that visit, communication is limited, but schools are able to sit back and watch recruits work out. It sounds like Rolapp did his best to impress.

"Coach Guidugli stopped by the school,” Rolapp told Irish Breakdown. "He had the chance to see me throw and get on the whiteboard for a little bit of a session. It was awesome to just have him there.

"I thought it went great,” he continued. "I threw the ball well and thought I impressed on the whiteboard. He’s coming back to see me in the Spring.”

Notre Dame isn’t the only school that the Connecticut native has been throwing for. He’s spent the offseason trying to impress visiting college coaches and just get better as a player overall. There have been quite a few prominent programs who have been by to check in on Rolapp.

"The offseason has been so far,” Rolapp stated. "I’m continuing to improve, just working out and throwing a ton. Schools have been coming through all the time recently, which has been cool. Schools like Miami, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Rutgers, West Virginia and others have been showing interest. I’ve been throwing for colleges as well.”

Early indication is that Rolapp could be a fast riser in the 2026 class. He is a talented thrower, a part of a deep and gifted quarterback class nationally.

Rolapp comes from a football family. His dad Brian Rolapp is the Chief Media and Business Officer with the NFL and has been mentioned as a possible successor to Roger Goodell if Goodell were to step down as the league commissioner. He also has an older brother Will, who is a wide receiver for the Michigan Wolverines.
