Old Aaron Rodgers quote resurfaces as Jets trade buzz continues to swirl

Aaron Rodgers is taking time this offseason to contemplate his future. While he and the Green Bay Packers figure out how to have Rodgers back in 2023 , many fans and pundits are pondering potential trades for the four-time MVP. The New York Jets have seemed like the most plausible option.

After the Jets hired former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett this week to be their offensive coordinator, the trade talk has only ramped up. Now a Rodgers quote from 2020 has the NFL world buzzing about the possibility he becomes a Jets quarterback in 2023.

The quote, posted by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic on Twitter, is about Hackett:

Rodgers has said many things about teammates and coaches he’s close to, but that doesn’t mean he’s following Hackett to the Big Apple. After all, Rodgers didn’t follow him to Denver last offseason. Rodgers’ decision will likely have more to do with who the Packers can bring back in free agency than Hackett’s location.
