GLENDALE – Week two for the Arizona Cardinals is right around the corner as they get ready to take on the Carolina Panthers at State Farm Stadium this upcoming Sunday afternoon.

One of the players for the Cardinals who is ready to have a breakout game on Sunday is starting running back James Conner. Conner should be the focal point of the Cardinals’ offense, as exploiting the Panthers’ run defense will be one of the major keys to a victory.

James Conner aims to have a massive performance on Sunday:

It wasn’t one of Conner’s best performances in week one against the New Orleans Saints, as he was only able to rush for 39 yards on 12 attempts, though he did find the end zone once on a 4-yard pass from Kyler Murray. The offensive line was having trouble with the defensive stars on the Saints, like Cameron Jordan and DeMario Davis. Although it should be a different story with the Carolina Panthers. Carolina just allowed the Jacksonville Jaguars last week to rack up 200 rushing yards and averaged 6.3 yards per rush. If the Panthers’ defense doesn’t show up again in week two, James Conner could have a field day.

The emergence of Trey Benson will play a factor in how James Conner will fare in their offense, though Conner still should be the main target and will have most of the carries on Sunday. If the Cardinals can attack and free up the run game, it’ll open up the rest of the offense as well, and the Cardinals know that.
