One stat shows how crazily successful the Packers have been at AT&T Stadium
Mark Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

AT&T Stadium has been the home of the Dallas Cowboys for 15 seasons. But the Green Bay Packers feel at home there as well, especially when the topic of discussion is postseason games. One stat in particular shows how successful the Packers have been in Arlington — and also how the Cowboys have fallen short in the playoffs.

Since AT&T Stadium opened in 2009, both the Packers and the Cowboys have the same numbers of postseason wins in the retractable-roof stadium: three.

Packers playoff wins

The Packers first win there was also the most important one. Green Bay beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 to win the Super Bowl 45. Since then, the Packers have won against at the Dallas Cowboys twice in the playoffs: 34-31 in the 2016 postseason (the game from that amazing Jared Cook reception, preceding a Mason Crosby game-winning field goal), and on Sunday, a 48-32 win making the Packers the first seventh seed to win a playoff game in history.

Cowboys at home

Dallas won a playoff game at home in the first season of the new stadium, 2009 — the place was still called the "Cowboys Stadium" then, as the naming rights hadn't been sold yet. That time, they beat the Philadelphia Eagles 34-14, before losing to Brett Favre's Minnesota Vikings the following week in Minneapolis.

After that, the Cowboys spent four seasons without reaching the playoffs. In 2014, they beat the Detroit Lions 24-20 at AT&T Stadium, before losing to the Packers 26-21 at Lambeau Field in the divisional round.

Dallas lost to Green Bay at home in 2016, and then came back to win over the Seattle Seahawks in 2018, 24-22. They lost to the Rams in Los Angeles in the following game.

Last season, the Cowboys won a playoff game — the only one under Mike McCarthy —, but it was in Florida over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, before being eliminated by the San Francisco 49ers.

Not just postseason

The Packers' success at Jerry's World is not just a playoff thing. Green Bay is undefeated in the stadium, including regular season wins in 2013 (37-36, the Matt Flynn game), 2017 (35-31), and 2019 (34-24).

In total, the Packers have had six wins in six games at AT&T Stadium — three regular season and two postseason wins over the Cowboys, plus the Super Bowl win over the Steelers.

Next challenge

After beating the Dallas Cowboys, the Green Bay Packers are headed to face the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium, in Santa Clara. Interestingly enough, it's a place where the Packers also have had a pretty good track record.

The new 49ers stadium opened in 2014, and the Packers have played there five times. They had the two losses in 2019, both in the regular season and the NFC Championship Game. Other than that, the Packers won three times — regular season games in 2015, 2020, and 2021.
