One Stat Suggests Dolphins Signed Undrafted Diamond in the Rough

The Miami Dolphins just recently signed a flurry of undrafted free agents — including safety Louis Moore. Moore plays a position of need for the Dolphins (their secondary is a mess, even after drafting cornerback Chris Johnson in the first round), and one stat suggests they were especially fortunate to scoop him up as an undrafted free agent.

Amazingly, of the top 100 players on Pro Football Network’s big board, Moore was the only person who didn’t hear his name called over the course of the three-day draft. It’s not as if Moore barely made the cut for PFSN’s top 100, either — he was ranked as the No. 79 overall prospect and ahead of plenty of guys who went in the third and fourth rounds.

The 25-year-old appears to have as good a chance as any of the undrafted free agents the Dolphins picked up to actually make the team and play meaningful snaps in 2026. He showed off what he can bring to Miami’s secondary in a highly impressive senior season of college football.

The Texas native is on the heels of a six-interception season for an Indiana University Hoosiers team that posted a perfect 16-0 campaign and captured the National Championship. Moreover, Moore tallied 45 solo tackles, 43 assisted tackles, and 88 combined tackles while defending four passes.

There are plenty of reasons for Dolphins fans to be excited about the acquisition of Moore, but the stat from Pro Football Network probably tops that list. Essentially, it stipulates that the Dolphins managed to nab a top-80 talent in the 2026 NFL Draft class in the pool of undrafted free agents — that’s outstanding value.

Maybe Moore will go down as the first in what will be a long list of great undrafted free-agent signings made by the Dolphins under new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan in the years to come.
