Orlando Brown Jr.: 'It’s been going great' since trade to Chiefs

Two-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. requested a trade from the Baltimore Ravens during the offseason so he could play left tackle full-time and received his wish when the Kansas City Chiefs sent Baltimore an impressive collection of draft assets to acquire Brown and make him the replacement for former No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher.

Brown spoke with reporters Thursday and suggested he's already feeling right at home.

"It’s been going great," Brown explained, per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. "It’s different, obviously, with this being a new team for me. But [there are] a bunch of great men in this locker room. A lot of good leadership, a lot of men who have played good ball for a long time, been around the game. I’m just being a sponge, soaking in as much as I can from some of these older guys in this locker room and all the knowledge that they have, and experience that they have, and things that they’ve been through here in Kansas City or in the pros, period. So it’s been great. The team has taken me in, the coaches have taken me in. I’m just working every day."

Brown is on the final year of his rookie contract and hasn't yet agreed to an extension with his new employer. If he quickly becomes friends with quarterback and one-time Super Bowl and regular-season Most Valuable Player Patrick Mahomes, though, logic suggests the Chiefs won't let Mahomes' new protector go anywhere in 2022.

That same Mahomes has been a "full-go" in organized team activities this week following offseason toe surgery.
