The Packers aren’t moving on from wide receiver/return specialist Mecole Hardman, just yet.
Hardman was a disappointment during the preseason, ultimately becoming one of the Packers’ cuts to trim the roster to 53 players, but returns to Green Bay as a member of the 13-player practice squad.
The 27-year-old Hardman has won three Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs, primarily as a returner but has caught 178 passes for 2,302 yards and 16 touchdowns through the first seven seasons of his career.
In Green Bay, the logjam at wide receiver was simply too significant for Hardman to overcome and climb a depth chart that includes rookies Matthew Golden and Savion Williams, along with Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks, with Christian Watson opening the season on PUP, to make the 53-man roster and ultimately make an impact.
