  • The Green Bay Packers face the Cardinals; Josh Jacobs started despite injury, contributing to Green Bay’s offense.
  • The Cardinals led 13-6 at halftime, but the Packers were able to make history right before the break.
  • Kicker Lucas Havrisik made his mark in Packers franchise history on Sunday.

The Green Bay Packers are in action on Sunday in a road matchup against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium. Jordan Love and Co. enter this contest with a 3-1-1 record and are coming off a 27-18 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in 6. The Cardinals, on the other hand, are 2-4. Arizona started its season with two straight victories but has since lost four in a row and is in desperate need of a victory.

It was the Cardinals who took the lead into halftime, 13-6. However, the Packers would have been down by a bigger margin at the break had it not been for a historic development right at the end of the half.

The Packers entered Sunday’s contest with significant concern surrounding star running back Josh Jacobs. The three-time Pro Bowler has yet to miss a single game for Green Bay since joining the team in 2024. Jacobs, however, was in danger of missing the Cardinals game due to an illness and a calf issue.

The Packers had to wait until close to kickoff before making a decision on the All-Pro RB, who turned out to be healthy enough to suit up for the game. Jacobs got the green light to play, which was a significant development for Green Bay’s offense.

It wasn’t Jacobs who stole the spotlight at the end of the first half, though. That honor went to place kicker Lucas Havrisik, who made franchise history with his 61-yard field goal at the end of the second quarter.

The Packers announced Havrisik’s historic milestone via the official team website.

“Lucas Havrisik set a new Packers record with a 61-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to cut the Arizona Cardinals' lead to 13-6 at halftime.

“The previous franchise record was set by Mason Crosby at 58 yards in 2011,” the Packers posted on the site.

Havrisik, who is playing in just his second game for the Packers since signing with the team on Oct. 11, wasted little time making his mark on franchise history. For him to be mentioned in the same breath as Packers icon Mason Crosby, the team’s all-time leading scorer, is an absolute honor for Havrisik, especially so early on in his tenure with Green Bay.

Havrisik will need to do more in this one, though, with the Packers down 20-13 with less than two minutes remaining in the third quarter, as of writing.
