Packers Announce Jordan Love News on Tuesday

Jordan Love has sat out the Green Bay Packers’ last two games. The 27-year-old quarterback suffered a head injury in Week 16 against the Chicago Bears and was later placed under the league concussion protocol.

Love missed the Packers’ Week 17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He then ended up being sidelined again in Week 18 against the Minnesota Vikings despite already being cleared from the concussion protocol. Green Bay had already locked the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoffs heading into the Vikings game, which allowed the Packers to have their star quarterback sit out the season finale.

The Packers will face the Bears in the wild-card round on Saturday. This latest edition of this storied NFC North rivalry will have a lot more at stake, with the season on the line for both teams. The winner of Saturday’s single-elimination game will proceed to the divisional round to face either the San Francisco 49ers or the Philadelphia Eagles. It will be the end of the season for the losing team.

The good news for Green Bay is that Love is expected to start under center against the Bears. On Tuesday, the team announced that Love is off the injury report ahead of Saturday’s game.

It is worth noting that Tuesday’s practice was a walk-through for both teams, which is why the injury report is an estimation. However, the fact that Love wasn’t listed on the report falls in line with the expectation that he will be on the field on Saturday.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur also confirmed on Tuesday that Love will be back against the Bears. “There’s nobody else I’d rather have than Jordan,” LaFleur said.

Chicago is the No. 2 seed in the NFC, which gives them home-field advantage for Saturday’s contest. The Bears will host the Packers at Soldier Field, with kick-off scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET.
