The Green Bay Packers have had a successful season thus far in 2025. They are in second place in the NFC North, sitting with a 7-3-1 record. A big part of the team's success this season has been the stellar play of star running back Josh Jacobs.

Jacobs has played in 10 games this year, totaling 169 carries for 648 yards and 11 touchdowns, second only to Jonathan Taylor (15) of the Indianapolis Colts in rushing TDs.

This is Jacobs' second season with the Packers after he spent the first five years of his career in the Las Vegas Raiders' organization. In his career, Jacobs has amassed 1,775 rushes for 7,522 yards and 72 touchdowns en route to three Pro Bowls and one first-team All-Pro selection.

With the Packers set to take on the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day, Jacobs' status for the game has been in question.

He missed Green Bay's Week 12 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday due to a knee injury. He was listed as a game-time decision for the game, but ended up missing it after warmups. This was the first game Jacobs had missed since joining the Packers last season, as he had started all 27 previously.

On Wednesday, the Packers announced an update on Jacobs' status for the division matchup against the Lions. In the official NFLinjury report the Packers released, Jacobs was listed as a limited participant in practice but was not given an injury designation, meaning he is ready to go on Thursday.

This is a big boost for the Packers against a Lions defense that is ranked in the top half of the league in rushing yards allowed per game (101.7).

The Thanksgiving matchup between Green Bay and Detroit (7-4) will kick off at 1 p.m. ET at Ford Field on Fox.
