With multiple rumors and reports about a possible extension for him being a hot topic of discussion throughout most of the 2024 offseason, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love shared on Tuesday if he expects to agree to a new deal with the team before the start of training camp in a few weeks.

Love is currently in the final year of his contract with the Green Bay Packers, and he's set to make at least $11M if he enters the 2024 season without a new deal from the team.
But it's clear that the Green Bay quarterback is expecting to sign a new contract with the team in the near future, and unless something drastically changes, a deal will likely be completed before the Packers' regular-season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 6.
So, what kind of money will Love be making whenever he ends up signing his extension with Green Bay?
Well, he's got a couple of things going for him. He's still only 25, and he's coming off of a season where he helped lead the Packers to the divisional round in his first full year as the team's starting quarterback.
Spotrac.com currently lists Love with a market value that could earn him a new contract that pays him an average annual salary of $47.9M. That amount would give him the sixth-highest average annual salary among all quarterbacks in the league, right in between Eagles QB Jalen Hurts ($51M average) and Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray ($46.1M average).
As is the case whenever a large, lucrative contract is given to a player in the NFL, there are risks associated with these deals. When it comes to Love, the hope is that his performance level continues to ascend and he is able to develop into one of the league's premier quarterbacks.
There's no guarantee that this is what will take place for the young signal-caller. But with the chances of an extension getting done between Love and Green Bay seeming to become more likely as training camp nears, the team appears to be confident in him joining Bart Starr, Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers as the next great franchise quarterback.
Whenever Love eventually signs his extension, it seems safe to say he is likely going to be one of the highest-paid passers in the entire NFL, and right now, the Packers are OK with that.
