Maybe the Green Bay Packers will stay put. After all, general manager Brian Gutekunst has already made his two big moves to send out draft capital, acquiring edge defender Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys and offensive lineman Darian Kinnard from the Philadelphia Eagles before the season.
Without first- and sixth-round picks in next year's draft, it's hard for the Packers to invest even more draft capital on this current roster. However, if the right opportunity presents itself, Green Bay can still solve some roster issues ahead of the trade deadline at 3 p.m. (CT) on Tuesday, Nov. 4. These are the three most pressing roster needs.
This is the most pressing and also the most obvious need, because the position doesn't have top talent. Keisean Nixon is the CB1 but would probably be better equipped to be a supporting character, Carrington Valentine is a limited player, and Nate Hobbs hasn't been anything close to what the Packers expected when they signed him in free agency.
It's hard to solve an issue at a premium position at this point of the season, but there are some intriguing options out there.
Targets: Tariq Woolen (Seattle Seahawks), Denzel Ward (Cleveland Browns), Alontae Taylor (New Orleans Saints).
The Packers lost TJ Slaton in free agency and traded Kenny Clark to the Cowboys right before the season. Devonte Wyatt has stepped up, but the depth is still a concern — especially in the run game. A big move here is unlikely — a Quinnen Williams type. But getting a rotational interior defensive lineman could make sense.
Targets: Calais Campbell (Arizona Cardinals), Sebastian Joseph-Day (Tennessee Titans), Roy Lopez (Detroit Lions).
This wasn't supposed to be a need, but the Packers lost Tucker Kraft for the season with a knee injury. While it's impossible to replicate everything Kraft does, Green Bay will have to make some sort of move because it only has Luke Musgrave and John FitzPatrick on the 53-man roster at the position.
Targets: Chigoziem Okonkwo (Tennessee Titans), Michael Mayer (Las Vegas Raiders), David Njoku (Cleveland Browns).
