Micah Parsons’ arrival was a gauntlet thrown down by general manager Brian Gutekunst that the Packers were intent on being aggressive enough to make a run at the Super Bowl this season.

By and large, the reason Gutekunst chose to be so boldy aggressive is the Packers’ confidence in quarterback Jordan Love.

Packers’ Jordan Love off to MVP caliber start

Through the season’s first two games, Love is living up to the lofty expectations for his third season as the Packers’ starting quarterback and could hold the key to Green Bay emerging as the team to beat in the NFC.

Over at PackersWire, Zach Kruse suggests that Love’s strong start to the season has been Green Bay’s most encouraging development through the first month of the 2025 campaign.

“No position on the field is more important than quarterback,” Kruse writes. “And the Packers have one playing at a truly high level to start the 2025 season. Love is second in the NFL in passer rating through four games and ranks inside the top 10 in most traditional passing statistics and inside the top 5 in a lot of advanced analytics. And he’s done all this while playing behind a patchwork offensive line and without weapons such as Jayden Reed and Christian Watson.

“Love has been accurate (almost 70 percent), great on third down and in the red zone (first in touchdown passes inside 20) and terrific at creating explosive plays (25 completions gaining 16 or more yards, first). He did throw a game-changing interception in Cleveland, and his lost fumble in Dallas helped the Cowboys get back into the game. But Love has just the two turnovers, and the fumble was hardly his fault. By any metric, Love is playing the position at an elite level. If the Packers get this version of Love all season, they will win a lot of games and score a lot of points, and he will be a top MVP candidate.”

If the Packers keep up this pace, and Love continues to play at a high level, there’s a really good chance he will garner MVP consideration and Green Bay is going to live up to the preseason promise that accompanied Parsons’ arrival.
