The Packers’ offense, and especially the ground game, was brought to a halt in a heartbreaking loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 3.
As Green Bay gets set to take on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, there could be a major–and familiar challenge to get running back Josh Jacobs going.
When the Cowboys acquired former Packers nose tackle Kenny Clark as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Micah Parsons to the Packers, Jerry Jones suggested that improving Dallas’ run defense was a major motivator for pulling off the deal.
Sunday night, Elgton Jenkins will be tasked with opening up running lanes for Jacobs and the Packers’ stable of backs, against Clark.
“He always brings his hard hat to work and he’s a guy that’s been doing that consistently for the last nine years he’s been in the league,” Jenkins said, via the Packers’ official website.
“So we’ve just got to get ready for it and he’s probably going to have his piss hot playing us but it’s going to be a good battle though at the end of the day.”
Jenkins and the Packers’ offensive line winning up front against Clark, who has posted 10 total tackles with one sack and a pair of tackles for losses could prove pivotal to Green Bay’s offense following in the Giants’ and Bears’ footsteps firing on all cylinders against the Cowboys.
