Packers quarterback Jordan Love underwent successful surgery to repair an injured thumb, but is already back at practice in a limited capacity.
During Tuesday’s practice, Love reportedly put on a clinic during seven-on-seven periods, completing 10-of-11 passes, before later leading a move-the-ball seven-on-seven two-minute drill.
Love has yet to take part in full-team periods since undergoing surgery and is wearing a protective brace on his thumb. Still, getting to work on the timing with receivers in seven-on-seven drills is a critical and encouraging development for Love a nd a Packers offense that has been plagued by dropped passes.
Welcoming the Seahawks to Green Bay for joint practices removes some of the control that Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has over the ability to protect Love.
However, according to the team’s official website, LaFleur plans to have several seven-on-seven periods during the practice, which will allow Love to continue to get valuable practice reps as the regular season approaches.
Continuing to have practice reps in place for Love could go a long way to solving some of the Packers’ timing issues between the star quarterback and his young receivers.
