Packers HC Matt LaFleur on David Bakhtiari's rehab: 'Time will tell'

The Green Bay Packers played the entirety of the 2021 regular season without their All-Pro left tackle, David Bakhtiari. The protector of Aaron Rodgers’ blindside tore his ACL at the end of the 2020 season.

So far, his rehab has not gone as planned. He even required another procedure on his knee during the season last year. The importance of his return is made even greater with the absence of Elgton Jenkins, who tore his ACL during the season last year.

Even though David Bakhtiari has been in Green Bay for OTAs, he has yet to take the field with the rest of the Packers players. On Tuesday, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur addressed the media and answered questions about Bakhtiari’s rehab:

Matt LaFleur on David Bakhtiari: "Time will tell. We fully anticipate him being ready to go, but, you know, we did last year as well. Time will tell. But we feel good about the work he's put in and where's he at."

Aaron Rodgers on David Bakhtiari: “He’s been working really hard. Hopefully, training camp, he’s full go, good to go. But I know he’s been working hard and itching to get back out there.”

The Packers are returning Yosh Nijman, Josh Myers, Royce Newman and Jon Runyan from their squad last year. Additionally, the Packers added depth in the draft with Sean Rhyan (third round), Zach Tom (fourth round) and Rasheed Walker (seventh round).

Adam Stenovich, who was the offensive line coach, is now the offensive coordinator.
