Micah Parsons and the Green Bay Packers were on their way to what seemed like their third win in the 2025 NFL regular season last Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. They had a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, but that was erased by the Browns, who pulled off a stunning comeback for a 13-10 Cleveland victory.

The loss gave way to a lot of questions about the Packers, who looked like world beaters in the first two weeks of the season when they took down the Detroit Lions and the Washington Commanders.

Green Bay’s offense didn’t look good against the Browns, as it mustered just 230 total yards and just 10 points after scoring 27 points in each of the Packers’ last two games.

The defense looked good overall, but Parsons still went ahead and apologized after the game, particularly for his offside penalties.

“They didn’t bring me here to jump offsides, so I take more responsibility for this loss than probably anyone in here,” Parsons said, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

Green Bay insider doesn’t think Micah Parsons’ aggressiveness led to teammates’ penalties

Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers’ website got a message from a fan through “Insider Box,” asking if Parsons’ presence could have impacted the way his teammates approached the Browns game and resulted in penalties.

Here’s the question from the reader:

“Hi Wes: Do you think a lot of these penalties could be because an aggressive player like Micah Parsons has an influence on others trying to get that extra step and being to over aggressive.”

And here’s Hodkiewicz’s answer:

“No. To Parsons’ credit, he apologized profusely after the game for his two encroachment penalties in the fourth quarter.”

The Browns were called for a total of 14 penalties for 75 yards in the Browns game.

Parsons and the Packers will just have to learn the lessons from that loss, as they move forward to their next assignment, which is a Week 4 game versus the Dallas Cowboys.
