Micah Parsons is a new face for the Green Bay Packers, but he is certainly not a stranger to everyone in football. He is one of the biggest standalone nightmares of offensive coordinators, and now, and now that he’s on Green Bay’s side, he can never be a problem in the foreseeable future for the team.
Conversely, Green Bay defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is absolutely hyped that Parsons has arrived on the Packers, who should enjoy and benefit greatly from all the incredible things that the former Penn State Nittany Lions star linebacker brings to the field.
Even before the trade that brought Parsons to Green Bay, Hafley was already a follower of the four-time Pro Bowler, perhaps wishing then that one day he’d be able to coach a player of that caliber.
Jeff Hafley says he’s watched every single one of Micah Parsons’ pressures in his NFL career. All four seasons. A complete book on one of the NFL’s best pass rushers.
“Just turn on the highlight film and have fun.”
Parsons did not have the chance to practice a full offseason with Green Bay, and he might be a little rusty in this coming Sunday’s date with the Detroit Lions, but it should be just a matter of time before he fully acclimates himself to his new surroundings and to Hafley’s system.
“I’m not telling,” Hafley said when asked about his plans on using Parsons (h/t Rob Demovsky of The Athletic).
So far in his NFL career, Parsons has amassed a total of 52.5 sacks with 112 quarterback hits in 63 games.
