The Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks finally got the chance to share the field on Thursday for a joint practice in the lead-up to their NFL preseason showdown on Saturday. However, the practice was mostly defined by fights, with players from both sides letting their emotions get the better of them, as multiple skirmishes broke out.
According to Brady Henderson of ESPN, there were “roughly a dozen” physical altercations that erupted during the practice session that lasted for two hours.
Packers right tackle Zach Tom got tossed out of the field after trading punches with Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV and cornerback Devon Witherspoon.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love didn’t see action in the drills, but he was present and had a view of the heated moments on the field.
Love, who had surgery on his thumb last week and is not expected to play in the NFL preseason finale against the Seahawks at Lambeau Field, shared his thoughts on the fight-marred practice with Seattle.
Via Henderson:
“I think when you get both sidelines clearing, it’s tough,” said Love, who sat out of that drill as he continues to recover from left thumb surgery. “Try your best to break it up and things like that, but it’s going to happen, man. I don’t know. There’s no answer for that.”
The Packers have split their first two games in the 2025 NFL preseason, losing to the New York Jets in Week 1 (30-10) at home before taking down the Indianapolis Colts (23-19) at Lucas Oil Stadium last Saturday.
Love and the Packers will open their 2025 regular season on Sept. 7 versus the Detroit Lions at home.
