Packers lose versatile offensive lineman for the entire season because of something he can't control

The Green Bay Packers have lost offensive lineman Travis Glover for the season. Because of a shoulder injury, the Packers had to place him on injured reserve—and since the move was made throughout training camp, under the 90-man roster rules, Glover won't be able to return in the 2025 season.

A sixth-round pick last season at tackle, Glover could also play at guard—and he was listed as a second-string right guard behind Sean Rhyan. He's under contract through 2027, so there's plenty of time for him to get back, but it's a bummer to lose a young developmental piece like that.

As a rookie last year , Glover played four snaps at right guard and nine snaps at right tackle. In the postseason, the lineman had a tough game against the Philadelphia Eagles, playing 23 snaps at left guard and five at right guard due to injuries, but had three penalties and a 1.8 pass block PFF grade.

IOL depth

Without Glover for the rest of the season, there will be more competition at the bottom of the 53-man roster. Jordan Morgan, listed as a second-string left tackle, is also the primary backup at right guard. Second-year player Donovan Jennings has also had significant reps and is listed as a backup left guard behind Aaron Banks.

The offensive line also has Jacob Monk, Kadeem Telfort, JJ Lipe, Trey Hill, recently-signed Lecitus Smith, and Tyler Cooper to potentially play inside. Second-round rookie Anthony Belton has played exclusively as a tackle, but theoretically could move to guard if needed as well.

With the open roster spot, the Packers signed rookie wide receiver Isaiah Neyor, an undrafted player who spent some time with the San Francisco 49ers earlier this offseason.

Neyor is 6-4, 218 pounds. He had a 4'4 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, combining an almost perfect (9.99) Relative Athletic Score. The Athletic's Dane Brugler evaluated him as a sixth-round prospect, and NFL Network’s Lance Zierlein has a 6th/7th-round grade for him.
