The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears renew one of the NFL’s oldest rivalries on Sunday when the Packers host the Bears at Lambeau Field.
Since their first game in 1921, the Packers and Bears have met 210 times, the most head-to-head matchups in league history. Green Bay leads the series 108–96–6, a stat line built over decades of dramatic highlights.
The two teams sit atop the NFL’s all-time wins list, holding the first and second positions. Both franchises have been led by legendary figures such as Vince Lombardi and Mike Ditka and have produced a long roster of Hall of Fame talent.
But before Sunday’s kickoff, the story shifted from rivalry conversations to recognition. The Packers announced that their starting quarterback, Jordan Love, has been named the club’s 2025 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award nominee. “A leader on and off the field,” the team wrote on X, proudly confirming the honor.

Proud to announce Jordan Love as our Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year 2025 Club Winner! pic.twitter.com/p5kUJ7vrYO
Love is in the top 10 in passing yards this year. He has tallied 2,794 yards and 19 touchdowns with a 67% completion rate, being sacked only 17 times in 12 games. The 6-foot-3 quarterback has led the team to an 8-3-1 record this season, closely behind Chicago, who rank first in the NFC North.
Besides that, his Hands of 10ve Foundation, launched in May 2024, focuses on giving kids from all backgrounds access to sports and promoting mental health awareness. Most recently, he organized a coat drive in the community, donating coats to adults and children.
The foundation also recently donated over 1,300 cleats to 26 youth sports teams across Wisconsin as part of its "10ve for Cleats" campaign. It's quite evident why he was the winner from the club.
The entire nominee list from the NFL includes big names like Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and others. From Bears, DJ Moore was the winner.
