The Green Bay Packers beat the New York Giants 27-20 in a road matchup on Sunday, but star tailback Josh Jacobs' ailment put a damper on the victory.

The 27-year-old exited with 40 rushing yards on seven carries after sustaining a knee injury in the first quarter. Losing him for an extended period would be devastating for Green Bay, as he entered Sunday ranked second in the NFL with 11 rushing touchdowns.

Backup running back Emmanuel Wilson notched 40 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries with Jacobs out, as well as one catch for nine yards. The third-year veteran is coming off a 2024 season in which he totaled 502 yards on 103 carries (4.9-yard average), but he's not as dominant as the three-time Pro Bowler.

Luckily for the Packers, Jacobs' injury is not believed to be season-ending, but he'll get more tests on Monday, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky.

Head coach Matt LaFleur spoke about the situation postgame, via ESPN's Adam Schefter.

“I think anytime a player, especially of his magnitude, but anytime a player doesn’t finish a game, you’re always concerned about the welfare of them,” he admitted.

Jacobs played all 17 games for Green Bay last year and has never played less than 13 in a season. The 5-foot-10, 223-pounder notched 1,329 rushing yards with 15 touchdowns on 301 carries (4.4-yard average) in 2024 to go with 342 receiving yards and a score on 36 catches in 2024, his first campaign with the Packers.

Packers' Jordan Love Also Got Hurt

Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love also left the game with a shoulder injury, but he came back after getting X-rays. The 27-year-old opened up about it postgame, via Demovsky.

Love said the injury is "manageable," but "not fun." The fifth-year veteran at least felt good enough to return.

Love finished with 13 completions on 24 attempts for 174 yards and two touchdowns against New York. Backup quarterback Malik Willis also tossed a one-yard score to wide receiver Christian Watson when Love was out in the second quarter.

The Packers are now 6-3-1 and will next face the 4-6 Minnesota Vikings in Week 12. After that, they will hit the road to play the 6-3 Detroit Lions before returning home to play the 7-3 Chicago Bears.

The Vikings matchup will start at 1:00 p.m. ET on Fox at Lambeau Field.
